Ligueil is the nearest town to Châtre about 10 min (7km) away. It has a good market on Monday mornings, a mini-golf with 18 holes, games for adults and children close to the leisure area with tennis, swimming pool, fishing, camping and "boules" playing-area. Ligueil has local shops and a great supermarket open seven days a week. There are a number of restaurants including the traditional Colombier Restaurant. Loches is a 25 min (19 km) drive away. It is a medieval City with a beautiful castle and markets on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, full of farm fresh fruit and vegetables, local hams and cheeses, bread, fish, meat and flowers. Descartes is 25 min (20 Km) away. Close to the town centre, the activity park offers an aquatic space with pools, toboggans, high power showers, games area, jacuzzi and sauna. There is a canoe kayak club, fishing and miniature golf. Le Grand Pressigny is 15 min (13 Km) away. With a medieval castle, it has a full-sized swimming pool, a paddling pool for small children, and a sports complex with stadium, tennis, and cycle track, footpaths and bridle paths. Tours is 45 min (60 km) away. Tours is one of France's major centres at the heart of a European communication network. The high speed train (TGV) puts Tours at only 55 minutes from the centre of Paris, and allows direct connections to all the major airports. It is a city with an abundance of cultural activities. The length of the river, and the varied terrain, geology and climates through which it flows, make the Loire Valley the only region in France to produce excellent wines of every variety, red, white or rosé, still or sparkling, dry or sweet.
